Sparkly Birthday Pants and the UK Blog Awards

Tomorrow is my birthday (eeks!). And in searching for that ever-elusive "birthday dress", I stumbled upon these sequinned pants at H&M (more like, I saw them featured in Sheerluxe and fell in love with their sparkly goodness), which I almost bought. Almost. I chickened out at the last minute, despite plenty of Instagram encouragement to do so.

Tomorrow is also the last day you can cast your vote in the UK Blog Awards. And you know what would be a lovely birthday present? Your vote - which you can submit here. Votes will count up until midnight, tomorrow. I don't usually enter these kinds of things and they don't really matter to me, but this year, I thought, what the heck? I'll give it a whirl.

It's been a super exciting year for me and this blog. Recently, I've ...

... written about where to find the yummiest almond milk lattes for About Time Magazine ...

... joined the Zomato restaurant review network, which means I get to meet some lovely food-centric bloggers on delicious evenings out ...

... shared my love of "drunching" with Tabasco's newest brunch-focused website ...

... introduced fun, fresh, and exciting guest posts written by bloggers I know and love on Angloyankophile ...

... been featured on the front page of Waitrose Weekend talking about ThanksChristmas and Libby's Pumpkin Pie puree ...

... learned some night-time photography tips from the pros over at Nikon and SmugMug ...

... and told you about it all the while.

So, thanks. For being there. For reading. For listening. For responding and for sharing.

You're the best. Really, you are.

  1. Aww, why didn't you go for the pants??? Everyone deserves a pair of sparkly trousers they can break out on special occasions. Happy Almost-Birthday! Do you have big plans, or are you leaving it to your husband/friends to cook up something exciting?

    1. Haha ... I know, I was feeling insecure. And THANK YOU for voting!!! I'm going out to dinner at one of my favorite local restaurants tomorrow night. I wanted to organize drinks, but never got around to it! Oh well. It's a busy time of year!

  2. I may have to go and buy those trousers! Well done on all the collaborations! I'm trying to find some sites to contribute to at the moment, but my full time job doesn't really give me much time to build up a portfolio. Will keep reading yours, as always!

    1. They had them when went into the Covent Garden branch today, Charlie! You should totally get them!

Yes, I agree that juggling a full time job whilst trying to write and blog is difficult - I end up waking up insanely early to write and using my lunch break to publish posts! Sometimes I feel like I can never "turn off" ... I recently wrote a guest post about this on the UK Blog Awards website, which I'll reproduce here at some point!

Thank you so much for reading - it means a lot to me. :)

  3. Those trousers are GORGEOUS! Hope you have a wonderful, wonderful birthday - sounds like it's been a great year!

    1. A belated and huge thank you, Sorcha! I've so appreciated your support and have loved following your blog as well. Thanks so much for all your lovely comments and tweets xx
